Throughout history cultures have used flowers to convey sentiment when words fell short. Many of those cultures even went so far as to attribute specific meanings to different flowers and developing an entire visual language of flowers. In this series of paintings and prints I am working with several dictionaries and guides that translates over 1,000 different varieties of flowers into floriography.

This lovely image features an Apple Tree that translates to 'Art and Poetry' in floriography. It is printed on a luxurious velvet fine art paper in my studio.
