Of the second wave of paintings inspired by Roman antiquity, this was the first on my list to tackle. I love how the first century artists of Pompeii played with the depth of foliage in their garden pieces. This guy was a sumptuous joy to play with as I focused on capturing the depth and textures of a juniper tree in light of the first century Roman style.

This 30x30” acrylic creation is painted on archival canvas with deep 1.5 inch black sides that make a statement without the need for a frame.

All paintings are currently committed to be on display at the Last Resort Grill in Athens, GA through the end of March and will not be available for shipping until the first week of April.
