In the Victorian language of flowers, the apple tree stands for art and poetry — a fitting emblem for anyone who finds beauty in everyday rituals. This apple tree branch was painted from life by artist Meredith Raiford Akins and printed on a generously sized white 100% cotton flour sack tea towel.

Part of the Language of Flowers collection, this lovely towel features an apple tree branch in the center display on crisp white cotton, its scientific name on the bottom right-hand side, and its translation into floriography, 'art and poetry,' on the bottom left. The same artwork appears in the matching Art and Poetry – Apple Tree botanical art print, set against a dramatic black background, the light towel and dark print make a striking pair.

A thoughtful gift for writers, artists, teachers, and book lovers, a charming hostess gift, or a quiet bit of meaning for your own kitchen.

Details

  • 100% cotton flour sack tea towel, white
  • 27" x 27" — generously sized for everyday use or display
  • Pre-washed and pre-shrunk, so it holds its size wash after wash
  • Original botanical watercolor, hand-painted by Meredith Raiford Akins
  • Victorian flower meaning: "Art and Poetry"
  • Soft, absorbent, lint-free, and durable

All towels are pre-washed and pre-shrunk so you don’t have to worry about fading or warping with time. They are made with a specialty printer that allows the ink to be embedded into the fabric rather than set on top of it. This further protects the artwork with use and gets rid of that unwanted sheen that sometimes comes across in similar towels.

Care
Machine wash cold and tumble dry low.
