Inspired by the tree tops in the murals at the “Villa of Livia” just outside of Rome, this is one of two pieces in this series inspired by works not found in the ruins of Pompeii and Herculaneum. Theses murals reside in a villa given to Livia Drusilla in 39 B.C., upon her marriage to Emperor Augustus. This particular section struck me in its wavelike form and inspired me to push it even farther. The end result is a mesmerizing and enchanting work of art that blends the rhythm of water with the patterns of foliage. 

This 24”x30” acrylic creation is painted on archival canvas and framed in a natural wood floater frame to give it just the right amount of emphasis without overwhelming or overshadowing the piece’s simple beauty.
