Pomegranates

Pomegranates

$800.00

Bright, lively and energetic. As I began this series of paintings based off of first century art I knew right away that at least one piece needed to feature pomegranates. This fruit is rich with meaning as well as vibrant color. Most cultures throughout history have found inspiration and given deep meaning to this fascinating fruit. The ancient Hebrews utilized pomegranates in their decorations of priests robes and the engravings on the pillars of their holy temple. It is also said that King Solomon based the design of his crown off of the crown shaped base of the pomegranate. Painted in the style and color pallet of the Romans, I had a lot of fun capturing this unique and stunning fruit.

This 24”x30” acrylic creation is painted on archival canvas and framed in a natural wood floater frame to give it just the right amount of emphasis without overwhelming or overshadowing the piece’s simple beauty.
